SYNOPSIS

gset


DESCRIPTION

The gset command displays a dialog box with property sheets for setting KornShell flags, prompts, and command history. The property sheets displayed are:

User Settings 

Determine how the shell manages output redirection, end of files, and file name generation.

Environment Variable Options 

Define whether variables are automatically exported, whether they can be included on the command line, and whether unset parameters can be used in substitution.

Editing Mode 

Choose between vi, emacs, or standard Windows editing modes.

Message Options 

Set Verbose Echo, and Execute Trace, and specify whether errors are returned in a message box rather than on the command line.

Prompt 

Define your primary and secondary prompts.

History 

Set your history file and the number of lines it holds.

Persistence 

Determine whether the current option settings are saved for future use, and whether the saved options are used on KornShell startup.


DIAGNOSTICS

Possible exit status values are:

0 

Successful completion.

>0 

An error occurred.

gset is built into the MKS KornShell.
