Tech Note: Wintif No Longer Supported
In the past, MKS has had an agreement to offer the SCO (now Sun) Wintif runtime
library as part of our MKS Toolkit for Enterprise Developers product. This
library could be used as a replacement library for Motif, providing a Windows
look and feel. During the past several years, we have seen that the Wintif
source has received little maintenance and enhancement support. This is
evidenced by the growing gap between the current release levels of Wintif and
Motif. MKS has now elected to stop marketing Wintif because the product no
longer provides an acceptable option for our customers.
Effective July 1, 2007, MKS will no longer sell new licenses to distribute
Wintif. You can continue to distribute Wintif as long as:
- your deployed software already has Wintif installed and you are issuing an update of this deployed software; and
- you already own Wintif licenses but have not deployed them as yet.
TKEDev 9.1 patch 1 is the first release to enforce this new policy. If you
upgrade to this release, the Wintif library will be automatically uninstalled.
Additionally, the redistribution wizard will no longer display the option to
redistribute the Wintif component.

continued distribution of Wintif as mentioned above, please contact
