How can I activate PTC MKS Toolkit 9.4 on cloned images of a machine (that is, they have the same machine SID which must be unique)?
|
NOTE: this process should only be taken on brand new machines, not machines that are already in production.
- If PTC MKS Toolkit is already installed on the machine, you must
deactivate it either by uninstalling it or running the TKDeactivate.exe
utility in the product distribution. If you do not have access to the
utility please contact Toolkit Customer Support.
- Run Windows Sysprep on the machine you want to clone:
a. To run sysprep go to c:\windows\system32\sysprep folder. Double-click the
icon to run it. Make sure that the “Generalize” option is checked. This will
ensure that a new SID is generated for the clone.
- Once the system reboots and you have gone through the Windows out
of the box setup screens go Start menu, PTC MKS Toolkit, Configuration,
Configuration Information. Click the Activation tab for the Toolkit and
follow the normal Activation procedure.
